Councillor Adedamola Aminu was elected in 2006 of the Labour Party to represent Tulse Hill Ward, Brixton, Lambeth. He is very active in the political life and was elected as Deputy Mayor in 2013 – 2014 and later served as the Mayor of London Borough of Lambeth in 2014-2015. Between 2010 to 2013 he was the Deputy Cabinet Member for children and young people,
Cllr Aminu was Deputy Cabinet Member for Enterprise 2015 – 2016; he is the Chairman of Association of British-Nigerian Councillors in the UK and President of Association of Nigerian Academics UK (ANAUK)
Professionally Cllr Aminu is a lecturer in Business & Computing, and also Principal Consultant at AA Management Training & Consultancy Ltd. He was until recently a school Governor and Trustee for a UK Charitable organisation.
Cllr Aminu attended London Southbank University where he obtained a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Studies. He also attained Higher National Certificate (HNC) in both Computer Studies and Business and Finance. He furthered his education by acquiring a Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing, Diploma in System Design from Association of Computer Professionals and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE Cantab).
Adedamola acquired Masters Degree in Marketing from Greenwich University, London.
